Mother's Day 2009

Mother's Day 2009

Hello!  My name is Angela Seeling and I am a wife, mama, doula, and student midwife.  I am married to an amazing man named Caleb and mother to 4 gorgeous children -  Malachi (7), twins – Acacia and Ameena (4), and Haleigh (2), all born at home with the assistance of midwives and doulas.  Click here to read our twin birth story.

My professional journey as a doula and student of midwifery began in 1998, before ever having children of my own.  I left my Information Technology career to work alongside single mothers at a maternity home as their mentor and doula. I fell in love with supporting women and couples during the powerful and intimate experience of birth and encouraging them in their role as parents.  Over the past 11 years I have had the honor of attending approximately 200 births in various hospitals, homes, and at Mountain Midwifery birth center.  Additionally, I have supported many precious families as their postpartum doula.

I received my doula and childbirth educator certification through CAPPA (www.cappa.net).  I went on to complete a homebirth midwife assistant’s course, numerous midwifery skills workshops and am currently studying to become a midwife.  I have experience with homebirth, water birth, natural and medicated hospital birth, c-sections, VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), and multiples.

In 2003, I co-founded a non-profit family organization called Xylem Family Resource designed to educate, encourage and support families from pregnancy through parenthood and was privileged to lead the Family Preparation branch.

In 2005, the homebirth of my twins solidified my desire to support families in an out of hospital setting.  Currently, I am a student of Advanced Midwifery Studies with Ancient Art Midwifery Institute and will graduate in 2012.

Meanwhile, I am honored to support families in the role of labor doula, postpartum doula, or midwife assistant in hospital, home, or birth center settings.

Giving birth and becoming a parent are life-changing events that can impact each person deeply.  It’s an opportunity for education and growth as you make informed choices and pursue your hopes for your birth and your family.  My role is to empower and support you in those choices.

Womb to Grow – Providing pregnancy, birth, and postpartum doula support to families in the greater Denver area since 1998 – with a nurturing spirit, an empowering strength, and a servant’s heart.
