Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your baby! I am excited to join you on this amazing journey!
A labor or birth doula is a “trained labor support specialist who provides emotional and physical support to a laboring woman and her partner”–CAPPA.
We were born to give birth!
I believe that birth is a natural, life-changing event that impacts women deeply and that each woman should be given an environment and support to find her own path and give birth without fear.
This is your birth and your baby. My role is to empower you to educate yourself to make informed choices and support you in your decisions. My hope is that you would have the best birth for you and your baby, without regrets.
I believe that childbirth is not only a physical experience but also a spiritual and emotional experience. Trusting in our God-given ability to give birth and exploring the spiritual aspects of birth can reduce fear and open the door for a rich and fulfilling birth experience.
My role changes to support each client individually, providing a complimentary role to Dad’s involvement and importance. Fathers have a very important role in this process and experience their own feelings and sometimes, anxiety about birth. My role in this area is to empower dads to support their partners effectively and at the same time have the freedom to embrace their own birth experience.
I believe that no woman should labor alone and am honored to attend as the primary support person as well.
I am happy to meet with you and further discuss the benefits of having a doula at your birth and how I can customize my role to meet the needs of your family.
Women supported by a doula during labor have shown to have:
- 25% shorter labor
- 50% fewer c-sections
- 40% reduction in forceps use
- 30% reduction in analgesia use
- 60% reduction in epidural requests
In addition, long term benefits of labor support include:
- Improved Breastfeeding
- Decreased Postpartum Depression
- Greater Maternal Satisfaction
- Better Mother-Infant Interaction
Services Include
- 2 prenatal visits
- prenatal and early labor support and consultation
- physical and emotional support during active labor and childbirth, continuing into the immediate postpartum period (usually 1-2 hours after birth) to assist with breastfeeding
- 1 postpartum visit to share labor record, birth story and provide resources and breastfeeding support
Labor support options include acupressure, aromatherapy, birth ball, birth photography and video, birth positions, breathing techniques, hydrotherapy, massage, music therapy and relaxation.

Per Marcy Renton:
Angela was my doula during the birth of my daughter Anna. I was attempting a VBAC birth, and I succeeded in large part thanks to Angela’s support and guidance during labor. She was truly a grounding force. In addition, Angela provided me with guidance regarding choices that were provided to me in the hospital; her expertise regarding labor and delivery were invaluable to me. Thanks Angela! (Anna is nearly 8 months old now and thriving!)”

Per Leah Harter:
Angela is an amazing doula! We were one of her first clients, 9 years ago of our first daughter! She completely supported us and helped advocate for our needs and desires for a wonderful delivery. As new parents, we didn’t know what to expect from pregnancy, delivery, and recovery. She helped us all along the way. I’d recommend her to anyone pregnant as a tremendous resource!
